Production and Systems Engineering (MSc/PhD)

Overview


Based on the current scenario of organizations, demanding new competences for their operational activities, Unisinos Graduate Program in Production Systems Engineering focuses on academic excellence and corporate realities. Based on the new developments in the field and on the analysis of national and international cases, the program is intended to qualify human resources to change the reality of the organization where they work, contributing to regional development and the generation of entrepreneurship and innovation within the context of Production Systems Engineering.

*The Graduate Program in Production Systems Engineering conducts advanced scientific and technological research in the area and is recommended by CAPES. The master's degree is graded 5 and the doctoral degree is graded 4. Next assessment will be during the quadriennium 2013-2016.

Business Systems Modeling
Addresses advanced solutions to modeling and analysis of complex problems and to support the decision-making process in scenarios characterized by simultaneous interaction of multiple variables.

Competitiveness Planning and Management
The area of Competitiveness Planning and Management is an interface of specific knowledge developed by Production Engineering, Management and Industrial Economics. It encompasses modern and relevant issues from the point of view of economic, social, and environmental development.

The master's degree consists of 24 credits, including required courses and 7 optional courses. The optional courses are structured according to the areas of study. In addition to the credits of courses, to earn the master's degree students are required to develop a thesis and have it approved in a public defense.
