Visiting Foreign Scholar
Visiting Foreign Scholar and Researcher Program/Law School
Unisinos Law School welcomes legal academics, judges and other high government officials, and doctoral and post-doctoral candidates from around the world to pursue full-time research activities at its Law School.
Visitors may be designated either as Visiting Foreign Scholars or Visiting Foreign Research Fellows and may remain in residence for up to one year. All visitors are expected to pursue their research at Unisinos Law School in a full-time capacity.
They are entitled to access to the Law School and library privileges, including the use of several of our electronic research services. Visitors are also welcome to participate in the intellectual life of the Unisinos Law School by attending workshops and public lectures.
Visitors are required to attend one seminar of their choices, which allows them to present their works in progress.
How to Apply
Applications should be submitted at least six (6) months in advance of the proposed visit. Vacancy in this program is limited. Participants are responsible for their own living expenses.
Prospective Visiting Foreign Scholars and Research Fellows must complete the online application form.
The following supplemental information is required as part of the application (please have the documents ready to upload in order to successfully submit your request):
1. Resume or curriculum vitae;
2. Statement of research plan, approximately 1,000 words in length;
3. Seminar of interest of the researcher to participate;
4. Professional digital photograph (like the type that would be used for a passport or state identification);
5. Form of Letter of Acceptance by Unisinos Graduate Program.
